Alas, I abandoned poor White Truffles. As some of you may know, I had embarked on an experiment to see if I could create a mutant of Norma's Plain Vanilla using the lovely and rustic Green Mountain Green which I picked up in Rhinebeck. I don't know what happened. I cast on, went a few rounds, and there it sat. For weeks. Something wasn't right, and I spent no time uncovering the problem. I just ripped. I went straight to the Green Mountain Spinnery book which sits on my shelf, and picked out Moriah's Wildflower cardigan, a pattern written for this yarn.
I am using this as my decoy. Whenever my husband is around, I work on Wildflowers. The rest of the time, I am chugging along on Na Cragna, which I am now determined to make his Christmas present. I am about 10 cm from completing the back, and have set a goal of completing at least 1 pattern repeat (8 rows) a day.
Thanksgiving preparations are well underway. I'm preparing foods to take to all our celebrations and right now I am heading over to school for a feast!
Na Cragna is looking incredible. Good luck with your decoy sweater (both in the knitting and the decoying).

What a beautiful gift that will be and then to have a yummy sweater for yourself. Perfect knitting all around. Have a wonderful Holiday, Mary Beth. Blessing to you and yours!

Good idea for the decoy! Your husband will be really surprised when he gets the beautiful Na Craga.

Here's a suggestion. I too covet the Plain Vanilla, and I think the perfect yarn for it would be Beaverslide Dry Goods' fisherman weight McTaggart Tweed. It's a Rambouillet/Merino blend, very spongy and springy, soft as all-get-out, and comes in many gorgeous wilderness-inspired shades as well as plain vanilla (well, Jersey Cream.) I have a stash of Mountain Mahogany, which I think of as 'chocolate-covered cherry', which I may allocate to this project. Check 'em out at beaverslide.com.

Ah-HA! The decoy project is a GREAT idea!! Funny----you don't *look* like the sneaky sort, but you're pretty darned smart, so I shouldn't be surprised..... ;)
I've been pondering your knitting math since you sent me the info on Accordion. I may try using the Bartlett Yarn I've got in my stash--I've got black and a creamy white.

What a great plan -- and you sound so in control and determined!
Have a great Thanksgiving (despite the snafu I read about in Annie's comments...)!

You got some lovely sweaters going on MB!
*asking in a tiny whisper* Did I just read over at Sandy's that you know have child # 2 with that dreaded Pox disease?

Na Craga looks terrific. I just wanted to mentioned that I lengthened the sleeves with about 8 extra rows at the top. I am kinda tall and have longer than average arms. Your Green Mountain Spinnery cardi looks great too. Have a terrific Thanksgiving.

I love your decoy idea. What a bummer about chickenpox, but it's nice that you are going to have a little celebration with your little cherub (pox and all!) Now I'm off to help my mom set her table and stuff. I'm bringing my knitting, but people probably won't let me be quiet and knit. Errgh.
