Knitting Pure & Simple Jacket
Yarn: Peace Fleece Tundra, 5 skeins
Needles: US 5,7 Inox Circulars
Completed April 25, 2004
The fit turned out to be quite satisfactory! I did use ribbon on the inside of the zipper, as per Margene's suggestion. I will be posting on my zipper experience in the next couple days.
I love, love, love it! It looks great on you- perfect color for you. I love how it is posed so stylishly next to the lavender pansies. Looks great.
What next?

Wow, this is a happy turn of events! It looks PERFECT. Love Margene's ribbon suggestion, too. I now want to add a ribbon to my other zippered sweaters. What size did you knit up? Did you make any adjustments? Beautiful! You've inspired me to knit on. :)

YUP! LOVE IT! (she shouts!) :) That peace fleece is gorgeous! I haven't seen any PF that I haven't liked now that I think of it! Nice job zipping it up! I look forward to the tale of the zip!
Knit on, sistah! (see? I avoided using the word...sass-ay! ;)

Gorgeous......... I will be working that pattern as well. I tentatively swatched for it but I don't know whether I'll start it soon or not. It sure looks nice though.

Kudos to you! That sweater is lovely, and the yarn looks as though it has bloomed into a soft and cozy fabric. Love it!

What a lovely sweater! You did a beautiful job on the zipper and the pretty ribbon. I'm going to be working on sewing my first zipper onto a sweater soon so I can only hope mine looks as good as yours.

Beautiful! I am knitting the same pattern at the moment, into the second sleeve. I will be very interested to read your zipper story. I am concerned about sewing in the zipper.

Beautiful sweater! I love that you used decorative ribbon rather than plain -- really a nice, personal touch! Bravo.

It's really great! You just plowed through that one. I know what you mean about the dirty Peace Fleece...when I first got mine I thought it felt dusty, and when I washed my hanks I saw just how dusty it was...filthy! But worth it.

Oh, your jacket is so beautiful! I've had that pattern (cough cough) forever and now you've inspired me to dig it out and get it slotted into the lineup. Great job!

Your jacket looks wonderful! I'm scared to death of putting in zippers on jackets, so I can't wait to hear about your experience.

THANKS so much to everyone! Some answers: mine is a size 40". I didn't make any adjustments, except that I could have lenghtened the body a bit, maybe an inch. Also, I considered doing the sleeve decreases farther apart, which would make them fuller, but, in the end, I decided I like them "huggy". Finally - my lovely 10y/o daughter gets the credit for the photo of me!

It looks fantastic! I have yet to be brave enough to insert a zipper in anything. You did a wonderful job ;)

WoW! It looks marvelous and you did a super job on the zipper. It is a little slow going but worth the time to do it right. Very professional! The ribbon looks super with your PF...got mine at JoAnn's, too.

Your jacket is lovely. It looks as though that bath did wonderful things for the texture and you did a terrific job with the zipper. Wear it with pride.

looks great. I'm scared of the whole zipper thing too, as my hand sewing skills are lacking, to say the least.
