Yum. I splurged on a couple skeins this past week and went on a search for the perfect scarf pattern to match. I've narrowed it down to three.
Liesel by Mary Joy
Toasty Twisty by Yvonne
Rainy Day Scarf by Beth
All were found at Knitting Pattern Central, a great resource for scarf and other patterns. Which one do you like?
(On another note, I have been spending the past several weeks on a test knitting project which has been immensly satisfying. It has surprised me in many ways - how much I just enjoy the process of knitting, even knowing I won't keep the end product and can't blog about it, for example. This is why my blog has been so quiet in the past few weeks. I so appreciate those who still visit me, even though my posts are few and far between. Makes it a lot less lonely around here!)
Have a great weekend!
Okay, my vote is definitely Leisel- I really love the leaves- although just thinking of butter and lobster mmmmmmmmmm!

I love the first one and in fact have bookmarked it to come back to myself later.
Also, that color is wonderful and there couldn't be a better name for it than "drawn butter." Love it!

It's that color just dreamy. And "Drawn Butter" is a great name - summer *will* be here eventually, right? I think I'm partial to Toasty Twisty, but any of them would make a lovely scarf.

Oh, I definitely vote for Liesel too! Very pretty!

I like Toasty Twisty best but all three are very nice and would be great with the yarn.

I vote for the first one, too. It looks like it would be perfect with that yummy-looking yarn. We miss your posts, but your wonderful blog makes it well worth the wait and the effort to check in every once in awhile.

Thank you so much for the link! I'm searching for a scarf pattern myself- after several "misses" with a certain yarn.
I love that color yarn- perfect for you!

Cashmere! Oh wow. I can almost feel the softness right through the screen. :-) Good luck with your decision! They're all lovely patterns.

I love MJ, but since you're in a pretty cold area, I'd vote the Toasty Twisty.

I am voting for Toasty Twisty, too.

Well I, for one, have been offended by your absence. (teehee) I've been sooooo tempted by that Lobster Pot yarn. My eye always gravitates to it whenever I see it. "Drawn Butter" is an awesome name. Lookin' forward to seeing this one knit up!

I like Liesel the best!

Liesel. When I saw the yarn, I immediately thought of a lace pattern, quite similar to the Liesel pattern. And then I saw that you were looking for scarf pattern ideas!

Butter. Yum! Why am I suddenly thinking about popcorn?
Posted by: katie | March 24, 2006 at 10:42 AM
Yum, yum. I like the Liesel pattern the best, but agree that the other 2 may be warmer if that is a consideration for you. But I love how Liesel would look in that scrumptious yarn!

well, I like them all and thanks so much for the links as I had not seen any of them before. For that yarn, I think Liesel is the ticket.

Leisel, hands down! Makes me wish for Down East Maine and summer!

I love the Rainy day scarf and I love your yarn! The lace scarf may show off the yarn better.

I'm for Liesl too!

You have three fine choices. When I want to make a scarf, I pour through the Barbara Walker books, looking for an interesting stitch, and then select one. I made a scarf from the "seafoam" stitch, knitting the scarf the long way, rather than the narrow way. it is one of my favorite scarves.
As for your scarf, I prefer a lace design as well. More fun to knit and also fun to wear!

Ha ha, Lauren! I agree with her, actually. Something cozy. All those holes will let the cold through.

ALl the patterns are pretty...I am partial to the toasty twist one :)

Pretty yarn. Tough choice between the patterns. I would go with Liesel or Rainy Day.

Liesel is my vote. Thanks for the link, I've bookmarked that one for the future. And that Lobster Pot cashmere? Is it as divine as it looks?
