One Really Expensive Vest...

Img_1744

That would be the Skye Tweed Vest, in the foreground, which I think I have been knitting since last Fall, I lost track.  It's Rowan Harris DK, Machair.  I love the yarn, but I'm so bored to tears with the pattern, that at the end of every repeat I run out and buy a bunch of Noro and knit a whole sweater before picking it up again.

This time, Iro's the yarn, Larstorp's the pattern, for my husband.

That'll teach ya! And it'll teach me to stop following your links. Now you've got me thinkin' about "Gesta." I could certainly afford enough Kochoran to make a vest now, couldn't I? I've been thinking about Kochoran for well over two years now ...

That's a novel way to get through knitting something -- purchase yarn and knit something else every repeat. I could do it, too, with the Noro because I'm turning into a Noro junkie. I like both sweaters, but that color of Iro is just beautiful!

What a great idea? If I weren't on this darn Stashalong, I would reward myself with some Noro too. Much easier way to put some color in my life ;-)

Lesson learned.......don't by boring patterns...LOL.

Wow, that is really bored. And really expensive. But the skye tweed is pretty, how much do you have left?

"Larstorp" sounds like it should be some kind of shelving unit from IKEA. Come to think of it, so do a lot of those Noro designs. ;-)

Both are awesome! Wow, buying Noro at the end of every row sounds great. My teensy paycheck would be eaten up immediately, though! lol
I really like the stitch patterns you are knitting. Even if the one is boring, it comes out looking beautiful. That's something, right? :)

I like the Skye vest, because I am a fan of all things Kathy Zimmerman, but I hadn't looked past Klaralund in the second Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton book - Larstorp is nice, particularly in your colorway. If you're going to get distracted, that's not a bad way to go at all.

Boy, your husband is one lucky fellow! Isn't the vest for him, too. Isn't it nice, though, to have a husband that likes to wear your knitted garments. I am making mine a sweater right now, too, and I can't wait to finish it for him because I know he will wear it and love it.

Well, that's one way to solve the problem. ;)
I love the colors in that Noro.

That Noro looks sharp -- and good solution to your problem :-)

that is one good looking sweater!

It may be expensive but it sure looks worth it! Beautiful!

"Larstorp" is one of my favorite of all the Noro patterns I've ever seen. I think because it reminds me of the mistake rib scarf that I made and love. It has texture - yum, plus the lovely, gradual color changes. It looks like it would be a very satisfying knit and you have one lucky husband!
