Sometimes I get so busy I don't have much time for knitting, which makes me very grumpy. If I just take a few minutes, though, and do a "knitting related activity", it seems to take the edge off. I recently read the Knitters Review Article on Scarf Yarns, and the author mentioned keeping a basket of your handknits by the door for easy access as you head out into the winter cold. So I fished around in the family bin of ski gloves, fleece headwarmers and assorted winter accessories and came up with some of my handknits for such a such basket.
I then spent a few minutes browsing through my stash for scarf yarns and patterns just for the fun of it. With no intention of starting anything. All that took about 30 minutes. Very satisfying....

I know what you mean about getting grumpy when I get really busy and don't have as much knitting time. I just recently had some time to catch a breath and sink into my knitting the way I like to do since it was Winter Break at the college for which I teach. It was heavenly! Today is the first day back, and I am feeling grumpy already, thinking about how I won't get anymore daytime knitting for awhile. I love knitting in the evenings, too, but daytime knitting is the best!

I have something like that--a tote bag hanging from one of the coat hooks on the rack by the door. I can't really admire them in that configuration, but if I put the knits in a pretty basket on the floor, the cat would be sleeping on them in the blink of an eye! ;-)

That's a great idea and I think I can scrounge that much time. So handy AND it makes a really pretty picture too. Thanks for sharing with the other grumps.

OOOOh, I too get grumpy when I can't knit...and then even grumpier when no one around could even begin to understand why I am so grumpy...Lately, I've started taking a sock-in-progress with me everywhere. If I can't knit, at least I know it's there....

I love that picture! It looks like a picture on a knitting calendar.

I can totally understand the grumpiness. Don't know where time flew and am lacking the stamina to do much knitting this winter. Your knits are beautiful and your basket really cheered me up.

Doesn't that look nice :-)

What a nice idea! Seeing my handknits on the way out the door every day would cheer me up too.
