Monkey on My Back

Kim got me thinking about it.  Just the other day, she showed the Brooks Farm yarn she purchased last year at Rhinebeck, and I thought, "oh yeah, me too.  bought some.  never did anything with it."  Now Rhinebeck is approaching, and with it, a one year anniversary for that yarn in my stash.  Phooey.

As I rummaged around my stash, I came upon so many other impulse buys.  One of which was ONE, that's right, one skein of Rowan Plaid.  That was last night.  And today, I bring you a skein no more!  Just one cozy hat, and a square for the Memorial Project, to boot.

Rowan Plaid - 159 "Seamist"

Size 8mm Needles

I'm not going to make any grand promises about whittling away my stash, one skein at a time, but it sure feels good to turn something idle into something useful.  Now I'm hearing some talk around the blogs that there might be a new pattern coming out for Brooks Farm yarn, so I'll be on the lookout for that.

Happy weekend, happy knitting to all!

That's certainly the way to approach this stash problem - one skein at a time. The hat is appropriately name ... cool! ;)

Great idea. I have a random little ball of Jo Sharp Tweed, I think, and have absolutely no idea what to do with it. I love it -- it's olive green -- but I bought it back when I was so naive...thinking I could make a scarf out of it or something. Well, maybe a wristband.....LOL

I really don't think it would make a hat,....but would it? Maybe little wristwarmers. Geesh.

Great hat! It is going to be great when the cold weather comes.

Slow down, lady! You're putting the rest of us bloggers to shame. 3 finished objects in one week? Too many squares to count? Stop being so productive and become mopey and whiney and lethargic like the rest of us....i.e. ME!

;)
Oh, and that style hat looks really great on you.

Love the cables :)

What a fun "cabley" (that's a word now, right?!) hat!

Hold the phone---a hate AND a square from one skein? Fabulous! The hat looks very "cool" on you--how do you take those fun, artsy photos?

A new pattern for Brooks Farm yarns, eh? Let me know if you see something--I'm terrible at getting around blogland these days.

Cool indeed!!

great hat!
