Spring cleaning continues here. I need to finish my wintery WIPs first, but look what amazing forgotten treasure I uncovered as I cleaned out the stash. Even more special because it was gifted to me by a dear friend. Just for fun, I perused the pattern and wound the skein into this beautiful ball. I think I will sit it on my knitting table for inspiration. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to throw this beautiful shawl over my shoulders for the July wedding we have been invited to?
I just love the way it pools in the ball. (I am not afeared of poolin' yarn) It makes me want to knit a shawl (Peacock feathers from Fiddlesticks for me please) in handpaint.
I've seen that shawl before and you've reminded me I have some yarn I'd like to use for it. Do you mind telling me how many yards are recommended for the pattern as written? Thanks!
Sounds like the perfect plan to me.

That is gorgeous. I need to get going on my current shawl so I can start another lighter one. Inspiration indeed.

Are they doing handpainted lace yarn at BBR these days, or is the yarn from elsewhere? Either way, it's lovely stuff.

What sumptuous yarn! I don't know how you resist casting on right now. You're made of stronger stuff than me.

Oooh, what pretty spring-like yarn. Perfect project for you after you finish Celtic Dreams. :)

Love the pattern. It has a nice stitch pattern to it but not too much so it will go well with a hand painted yarn. I'm sure it will be lovely.

Oh wow! That would be perfect for a wedding!

I made that shawl pattern a few (?4) years ago and it's lovely. I think you will enjoy the project.

That colorway is just fabulous. Is that the wool/silk blend that Blackberry Ridge sells?
