ARGHH!!

IMG_0106.JPG

Oh well, we all knew it would snow at least one more time, right?

TOP FIVE DUMB KNITTING MISTAKES

1. When changing to a larger needle after ribbing, using a larger one for the first row, and then picking up the small one again. Or just forgetting to change needle sizes at all.

2. Knitting with the cast on tail, which you were too lazy to trim and so you picked it up instead of the yarn from the ball.

3. Reversing a cable, ie, holding stitches back when they should be front and vice versa. Noticing this 5 inches later.

4. Stitch Boo-Boo's: Irish Moss Stitch - forgetting to switch purls to knits on alternate rows; Garter Stitch Borders on Scarves - forgetting to knit every row, making it stockinette.

5. Knitting along so happily and forgetting to measure - making your piece too long - ARGHH!

Anyone out there have anymore?? Happy Monday!

Mine was finding a lonely stitch, unattached and available almost 20 rows back! Run out of yarn on a scarf when you had talked yourself out of buying 3 balls in the store.

I posted my this morning - forgetting what size needle you were knitting the project in!

I sewed up the shoulder seams on my husband's Christmas sweater, knitted the collar, and started to sew the side seams before I realized that the front piece had been sewn on upside down.

Losing a needle while I'm knitting on the couch. Where did it go? I stand up. Nothing. I look under the cushion.....ewwwwwww. Nothing. I have to end up moving the couch and there it is way underneath. How the heck?? Usually it's a cable needle that happens with.
We got snow too. Looks like we will escape the latest batch?

My all-time favorite (it must be, because I do it all the time): Mistaking the US needle size for mm size and wondering why your gauge is WAY off.
